PURSUING ED CHOICE FOR 2025-2026!
PURSUING ED CHOICE FOR 2025-2026!
We are making a way for you!
ED CHOICE TIMELINE
-
Families must complete our Northstar Application and admissions process, including our Initial Enrollment form, which will be sent via email after application.
-
We’re actively working through the documentation and requirements that will allow us to accept Ohio EdChoice vouchers. Based on state timelines, we anticipate a decision in March 2025.
-
Once you’ve enrolled and we’re approved, Northstar will apply for EdChoice vouchers for your family.
We recommend that you familiarize yourself with Ed Choice Resources, available for reference in the Ed Choice FAQs below. -
The state reviews applications, awards tuition voucher amounts, and mails families a letter.
The amount of your voucher will be deducted from your tuition balance.
Note: Vouchers are not applicable for Jr. Kindergarten, only K-8, and cannot be applied toward books, supplies, or fees.

HOW DO I APPLY?

All tuition, books, and fees above are per student except for an annual enrollment fee of $150 per family.
Tuition is managed through FACTS, and may paid in full or over a 10 month period, beginning June 1st (prior to school) and continuing on the 1st of each month.
Additional Investments
-
Each family pays a one-time $150 application fee upon their initial application.
-
Our students have a formal uniform requirement from a specific vendor. Most parents spend $150 per student on the required pieces.
-
In addition to a book bag, Northstar students pack lunch, so most families purchase reusable lunch bags and water bottles. All other materials, books, and supplies are covered by tuition and fees, so there is no need to purchase school supplies.
-
Students are dropped off and picked up daily. Parents should plan to arrive no later than 8:10AM for drop-off and 3:30PM for pick-up.
Students are provided with at-home work that supports their learning and prepares them for future lessons. Parents should plan up to 30 minutes for weeknight homework and 60-90 minutes on non-school days (Monday and/or Friday) each week.
Northstar hosts two “work days” annually for small projects around the school. These events are a few hours on a weekend, and all parents are required to attend at least one as part of our commitment to community stewardship and keeping tuition affordable.
OCEN SCHOLARSHIPS
-
FUND THE SCHOLARSHIP
Northstar works with a scholarship granting organization (SGO) called the Ohio Christian Education Network. We encourage all our families and community members to defer their state of Ohio tax dollars to OCEN. When you choose “Northstar Classical School” from the list of participating schools, you help make Northstar more affordable for families who apply for the OCEN scholarship and it costs you zero dollars!
-
APPLY FOR THE SCHOLARSHIP
In 2023 and 2024 we were able to provide more than $50,000 in scholarships to our families through OCEN! Financial need is the primary consideration for this scholarship, and all families are encouraged to apply annually.
